The University of West Florida is a creative, student-centered state institution focused on excellence. At UWF, our highest priorities are our students and the academic programs that serve them. The faculty, staff and students at UWF are not here to merely do what's been done before. Individual attention from a world-class faculty in a warm and caring environment is the essence of UWF. Our mission is to empower each individual we serve with knowledge and opportunity to contribute responsibly and creatively to a complex world.
The University of West Florida, with campuses in Pensacola and along the Emerald Coast of Northwest Florida, is one of the region's prized resources. UWF is a member of the State University System of Florida. The Florida legislature established the university in 1963, ground was broken in 1965 and classes began in the fall of 1967. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2007, UWF has three colleges, Arts and Sciences, Business and Professional Studies, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. UWF serves a student population of approximately 10,000.
One of UWF's most acclaimed features is its beautiful main campus, a 1,600-acre nature preserve of rolling hills and natural woodland along the Escambia River 10 miles north of downtown Pensacola. UWF’s facilities have been designed to complement the natural beauty of this wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary. Campus tours are offered at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each weekday and begin at Hopkins Hall. Self-guided walks through our campus woodlands and nature trails provide glimpses of native wildlife.

History of PCC
Pensacola Christian College was an idea that came from God. This idea became a reality in 1974 when 100 students arrived at PCC’s one building. Thirty-four years later, students now represent every state and more than 60 foreign countries. PCC offers a wide variety of programs in some of the finest college facilities in America. Although PCC has grown, excellence in education and commitment to the Lord remain the core of the College’s balanced program.
Pensacola Theological Seminary was founded in 1998 when PCC saw the need to expand its practical, Bible-centered approach to ministerial training. The goal of the Seminary is to fill each student’s mind and heart with what the Bible says. The purpose of the Seminary is to prepare servant-leaders to share the gospel boldly, preach the Word clearly, and shepherd the flock faithfully.
